| The freedive section of Desert Divers is spearheaded by Annelie Pompe (Sweden) she is one of the members of the swedish national team that won a silvermedal in the world championships in Hurghada 2006. She is one of the five deepest diving women in the world (70 meters +). Annelie also works with personal training (muscles and fitness) and guides classes in Yoga - skills that are more than applicable in freedive training. She is an Aida-trainer.
Parts of the year she is joined by her trainer Sebastian Naslund, who has represented Sweden in world championships and has held national records. His speciality is bifins and diving without fins (50 meters +). In Sweden they runs a freediving school that has had more than 100 students. Sebastian is an Apnea Academy instructor and also works as an under water filmer.
Desert Divers also has other visiting instructors during parts of the year. Helen Garner is an Aidatrainer that represented South Africa in the last world cup. She is also a highly professional yoga instructor. She divides her time inbetween Dahab and Capetown. Other instructors that can be seen at Desert Divers are Hanli Prinsloo (South Africa) and Emil Österlund (Sweden) both of which dive deeper than 50m meters or has set national records. Emil is an Apnea-Academy freediver level 3 and Hanli is an Aida-trainer.
Together these freedive instructors has a vast experience of all aspects of freediving, be it simple introduction courses to advanced courses dealing with dive response techniques, difficulties with equalization or oxygen saving hydrodynamics e t c
Equipment is included in all intro/beginner courses. Freediving can be combined with rockclimbing and camelsafaries. Contact us for guidance on cheap flights and accomodation.
If there is a wish for certification, these instructors can certify you with AIDA or Apnea Academy. We are also open for more personalized training with the pure aim of going deeper under water and staying longer. We can assure you there is a freediver inside of you - whos performances will surprise you after only two three days of training.
